Sustainability at Lucent Imaging

At Lucent Imaging, we focus on preserving memories and creating prints that last. Sustainability and longevity are at the heart of what we do. We’ve put our values into practice by minimising our environmental impact and by offsetting our emissions, making us a carbon neutral studio.

How are we reducing our environmental footprint?

  • By separating waste streams

  • By reducing administrative printing

  • By invoicing digitally

  • By reducing plastic use

  • By using unbleached packaging

  • By using recycled backing boards

We believe our investment into positive environmental impact is multiplied when we work as a community. Our clients and partners choose us, knowing we’re environmentally conscious and future-focused.

Trees Planted
CO2e offset

We’ve partnered with Carbon Neutral to plant one native tree for each roll of paper we consume in the studio.
Our carbon offsets are made against verified Gold Standard Planned Emission Reduction Units.

Our Commitment to Carbon Neutrality

We’re minimising the environmental impact of our studio by better understanding the carbon footprint of our day to day resource use and by improving our workflow to prevent emissions.

After doing what we can to reduce our overall impact, we purchase carbon units to offset the difference. Our offsets are invested into the Gold Standard registered Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor in Western Australia.

Carbon Neutral Print Delivery

With our prints travelling from Canberra to clients across Australia and around the World, we ship each print with its environmental impact in mind. We’ve considered our printing, packaging and delivery methods to offset the carbon footprint of each parcel.

Your prints are delivered by Australia Post who are committed to carbon-neutral delivery.

Our EmissionsHistory

We’ve considered our environmental footprint since day one, measuring, reducing and offsetting our emissions as we’ve grown. Over 3 years, we’ve moved from a production workspace of 15 to 70sqm and doubled our team whilst minimising our environmental impact.

In 2020, we purchased our first block of Gold Standard PERS (27 t CO2e) to offset all previous years, making our entire business carbon neutral.

FY 2017/18

4 t CO2e

FY 2018/19

FY 2019/20

FY 2020/21

In the ACT, our power consumption is Carbon Net-Zero, offset with interstate renewable investments and clever carbon accounting.
We’ve chosen to take additional steps to offset our impact directly.

We’ve chosen to locate our studio close to our local suppliers and to main arterial roads to reduce travel distances. We’re currently investigating ways to install a charging point for an electric vehicle replacement within 3 years.
