Conservation Framing, Minutes from Queanbeyan
When the thing going into the frame matters - an original artwork, a signed print, a photograph that can't be replaced - the framing has to protect it, not just present it. Our Fyshwick workshop does conservation framing with archival materials throughout, one suburb over from Queanbeyan.
What we add to Queanbeyan's framing options
Queanbeyan has framers of its own, and for everyday jobs they serve the town well. Where our workshop earns the short drive to Fyshwick is the archival end of the craft: acid-free matboards cut to the work rather than to a stock size, reversible museum-style hinging that never glues an original down, and glazing chosen for the piece rather than the price point.
The other difference is under the same roof: we are the region's only Canson and Hahnemühle certified print studio. If your artwork needs to be reproduced, printed and framed, the print never travels between suppliers - it goes from the printer to the mounting bench in the same building, and one set of hands is accountable for the finished piece.
Framing from Queanbeyan, in practice
Bring the work in - we are roughly [TODO: confirm ~10-15 minutes] from central Queanbeyan - and we will size it up together: moulding, matboard colours and glazing chosen against the actual piece, not from a photo. Framing is quoted on the spot or shortly after, and typical turnaround is [TODO: confirm framing turnaround].
Drop-offs are by appointment, so the bench time is yours. Collection works the same way, or we can arrange delivery for larger framed pieces.
